History of the property :
The first historical traces of this property date back to around 1870.
At that time, the entire district belonged to the English, who divided it into huge properties. Built on a plot of land that has never changed since its inception, Villa Hollandia was then designed at the request of the great Duke François III of Melcklebourg-Schwerin, who was in poor health and who at that time had to spend a long time on what Stephen Liegeard called the Côte d'Azur.
Sometime later, another family then just as famous, the ROTHSCHILD threw their devolvement on the property, it was more particularly Bettina de Rothschild then widow of James de Rothschild. This branch of the family is certainly the most powerful since Baron de Rothschild was successively the banker of Louis XVIII, Charles X, and Louis-Philippe, who died in 1868.
This property then became a major place of celebration, where all those who contributed to building the history of our old continent could meet.
In 1920, this beautiful residence became the property of an American family from Baltimore les D'ARCY HILLES.
